Ryan McNamara - Financial Aid Director, Central Virginia Community College
Ryan McNamara brings 18 years of financial aid experience to VASFAA. Those include being Director of Financial Aid at Clearwater Christian College, Senior Associate Director at Florida Southern College, Director at Randolph College, and currently Director at Central Virginia Community College. Heavily involved in my previous State Association, I was secretary for six years, head of the scholarship committee, as well as President of FASFAA (Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators). Now I appreciate the opportunity to serve in the Virginia Association with you.
Training and involvement are two things that I truly believe in. Early on in my career, I was at a small college, so the State Association was pivotal to my success. Without access to good training, we are lost.
VASFAA is your Association. We want to hear from you. Those experienced in the profession, we could use your help. Those of you that are new, we want your enthusiasm. Now is the time for all to take the next step and become involved. The VASFAA Board is here to help you do just that. For example, what is VASFAA doing well and where can it improve? What do you need from VASFAA? How can we take this Association to the next level? These and more are what we will be working on together over the next few years to make a positive impact within VASFAA.
We will work together. I thank those in the past for what they have built, and we are ready to continue the good work into the future.
I am married to Veronica and have three children- Elizabeth who is married and in college, Alexa is in 10th grade and Wade in 3rd.
In my free time I am President of the Appomattox Soccer Association and coach my sons’ team.
Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Master of Education in Educational Leadership both from Clearwater Christian College.
Thank you for you nomination for President-Elect of VASFAA.
