Designed for new financial aid officers and those who want a basic review, this webinar will cover the core tax-related information financial aid officers are expected to understand. The webinar will include an overview of the IRS Data Retrieval Tool and Tax Return Transcripts, with a focus on the problems applicants and family members may encounter as they try to use them, and will cover the expectation that financial aid officers understand when a person is required to file a tax return and what the correct filing status for a taxpayer should be. The webinar will also review any changes to verification that the Department may have announced.
