Having Fun With Taxes: Advanced

Robert Weinerman, IronBridge Resources, Presenter

Financial aid officers use tax returns for more than just verification, and some of those uses are challenging. In this second of our two part Having Fun with Taxes webinar, we will review some of the more complicated tax related issues financial aid officers face. This webinar will include a look at FAFSA – IRS marital status mismatches, which may require an aid officer to combine two tax returns or extract the data about one person from a joint tax return. We will take a look at amended tax returns and issues that come up around the FAFSA income earned from work questions. We’ll also take a look at how the changes to the tax code implemented in 2018 may change the way we consider professional judgments – if you collect prior year tax returns as part of the documentation you need to support your use of professional judgment, you’ll want to understand how the 2018 tax return may have changed.

Thursday, January 24, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

Webinar access will be provided to those who register.
