FM Verification and Conflicting Information 2023-2024
Robert Weinerman, IronBridge Resources, Presenter
With the pandemic emergency coming to an end, it looks like V1 verification may be required in the 2023-2024 academic year. In this webinar, Robert Weinerman, Director of Training at Iron Bridge Resources, LLC, will review the basics of verification and tax forms – including a review of the required documents that must be collected when a student is placed in the V1 verification group. He’ll look at both verification data that must be reviewed, as well as conflicting information you might find if your verification document is a tax return or tax return transcript. The “Who is required to file a tax return?” and “What is the correct filing status for a taxpayer?” questions will be addressed, and there will be plenty of time for your questions.
Are you a new or relatively new member of the financial aid office team or looking for an in depth refresher? Don’t forget to register for the Pre-conference Fundamentals Workshop at this year’s VASFAA conference on May 7th. Robert will be there in person presenting an overview of all the tax information that a financial aid administrator needs to be familiar with, and you’ll get access to Iron Bridge Resources’ comprehensive FM Verification and Conflicting Information on-demand recorded training for free (!), which has over ten hours of content and can enhance your understanding of the content in this webinar, and covers other important topics like how to address unusual income earned from work situations, splitting an AGI and Income Tax out of a jointly filed tax return, and how to address IRS and FAFSA marital status mismatches. (valued at $200.00)
Robert will be around the throughout the conference to answer your questions!
