Session Description:

We often hear that two things are for certain, death and taxes, yet stress plays a role in every aspect of our lives. From the gravitational pull of our planet has on our bodies, to the expanding and contracting of our lungs, to making deadlines at work, to managing the kid’s activity schedule, these are all forms of stress. Please join Dr. Cynthia Ellison of Virginia State University and Kevin Holman from College Ave Student Loans to discuss identifying stress and using “Self-Care” to mitigate stress to promote wellness at work and at home.

Kevin’s Profile:

Kevin Holman is senior executive with over 20 years of experience in higher education. Kevin’s broad range of institutional expertise ranges from complex software and hardware installations and IT management to excellences in education lending solutions. Currently serving as the Head of Campus Development for College Ave Student Loans, Kevin has multi-state responsibility leading relationship management in the Mid-South region (VA, WV, KY, TN, AR, MS, LA).

Dr. Ellison’s Profile:

Dr. Cynthia S. Ellison is the Executive Director of Trojan Health & Wellness for Virginia State University. Dr. Ellison is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor and is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Parent Child Interaction Therapy. Dr. Ellison has over 15 years of mental health experience and has worked with people from age 0 months to 90 years of age providing care in private practice, secondary and post-secondary institutions, crisis stabilization units, residential programs, in-homes and in the hospital setting.
